As a Sydneysider, learned Victorian slang from this. I had no idea, when watching cricket from Melbourne, what that chant was you could hear in the background late in the match. Then they did the chant at the end of this sketch. At the time, still wasn’t really sure but a few years later I asked a work colleague (who came from Melbourne and we knew that because she went on and on about the Carlton football club in a bit of an obsessive way. I like and follow my NRL club but it doesn’t dominate my life or conversation, anyway) and she explained that ‘divvy’ van meant a police wagon - or paddy wagon in Sydney as most Sydney siders have an irish convict past. Well there you go, divvy van? Still don’t know why it is called that but…. Also, going home? I don’t think police wagons are a taxi service, you aren’t going home, you are going somewhere else first and then, if you are lucky, you might find your own way home. The chant makes zero sense.

In the early '90s, my grandpa visits a friend's farm (Horton's farm) in Glastonbury Connecticut. He hears they're filming parts of the River of Dreams music video inside the barn and goes over there for a visit. He proceeds to chat up Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley. Keep in mind, my grandpa has no idea who they are. He calls my mom, living in New Hampshire at the time, and tells her about the experience. She is understandably livid and asks him, "Dad, don't YOU KNOW who BILLY JOEL is? He says, "No, but his wife was awfully nice!" My mom tells me this story years later, and is shocked at how clueless he is about the cultural zeitgeist. Some people are just in the right place at the right time, I guess.

The old dude who celebrated by having a "cup of tea mit toast" is adorable.

It's actually heartwarming how many polite older people there were who had never watched the show but were content to say positive things about it.

That car is brutal - it's a Datsun 240K Coupe with the roof hacked off...these were light, unit construction cars which should _never_ be modified in this way without major reinforcement. Waste of a rare classic (engines were great - good rally car.)
